This Cannot Be a Coincidence....

Anders was too far gone, chasing the boy up the walkway, he shot, expertly hitting Oren in the ankle. He cried out in pain, collapsing.

This was probably the point when Eden should have left it well enough alone and went back home, but she couldn't. How merciless it was, what this boy was doing. In a wild moment, Eden raced up behind Anders and jumped on his back, reaching for the gun he was holding.
"Let him go!" she cried.

"Traitor." whispered Anders, trying to wrestle her off.

"I'm not a traitor," Eden growled. "I'm saving somebody from a merciless killing."

"Traitor." Anders said, accidentally pulling the trigger. The gun fired, flying in one direction.

Eden eventually fell off, but she jumped back to her feet.
"You can't just go around killing people because you hate them," she said, hoping she made some sense.

"You are fool." whispered Anders. "Lights are enemies."
He withdrew another handgun.

"Yes, they are," Eden agreed, moving to stand in front of Anders, blocking him from shooting. "But killing people won't solve problems."

Anders faltered. "Officials will know." he said, before turning and walking away.

Eden almost called, "Officials will know what?" However, she chose to merely turn around to look at Oren.
"You're lucky," she growled at him.
