Just a little walk

The forest was surging with activity. The birds where singing, bees buzzing; the nature was beautiful. A perfect place for a little walk from quiet Zola. Sticking to the shadows cast from the trees, she walked from trunk to trunk, keeping her eyes to the ground. Unusual to her silent personality, Zola was also humming something, though it wasn't even louder than the sound of wind whistling through the trees.

Jaylen jumped down from a low branch on a tree, right in front of Zola. " Hey Zola!" She greeted, brushing her hair out of her face casually.

Zola jumped back, startled. She glared at her cousin, and shook her head slightly, causing a few strands of her hair to fall across her face. Zola never enjoyed being startled, but she managed to smile at her.

Jaylen smiled sympathetically. " Sorry, I so shouldn't have done that to you. So," She stepped back and grabbed a leaf, then began examining it. " Whatcha been up to, girly?" She asked.

Zola shrugged, glancing towards the sky. It was as blue as a robins egg. "Not much.." she finally whispered, "I don't really get out often.."

Zex was walking by, heading for the town. He heard the two girls, but kept walking. He kept his hands near his pistols at his sides, in case the girls were Darks and attacked.

Jaylen nodded. " Aw I see. You should really change that." She noted. " A social life can do wonders for you. I mean, you are a very pretty girl, guys most be drooling over you alot. Am I correct?" She asked, trying to start up a worthy conversation. While walking, Jaylen looked up and saw the boy. " Yo!" She called, before even considering if he was a Light or Dark. Idiot.

Zola glanced up sharply, seeing the boy. She cringed away, before ducking her head. "Idiot!" she hissed, "I doubt hes a Dark."

Zex heard the girls and knew they noticed him. "Darn it! They see me," he said to himself. "In case they are darks......" Zex said then he turned around and used his light mana to cause a flare to temporarily blind the girls, then tried to find a place to hide.

" Well shit..." Jaylen mumbled, blinking away stars. " You're right. Can you turn invisible?" She whispered, while her eyes began to refocus. She wiggled her toes in her boots which were knives were hidden in, ready to grab them any moment.

Zola backed up against a nearby tree, her eyes scanning the area. There were panic in her eyes. This was why she never left her home. Shaking slightly, Zola shrugged her shoulders.

Zex pulled out his pistols and backed up to the tree he was hiding behind."I should be able to handle them." He said to himself.

" No?" Jaylen exclaimed in exasperation. " Great... Stay here. Do you have your weapon, cause you're gonna need it." She barked, before focusing on using her dark mana to turn invisible. Finally, she was merely a faint shadow.

Zola glared in her direction, hateful thoughts filling her. What type of stupid question is that, asking her if she had her weapons. She also knew how to disappear, something that was taught to her from a young age. Disgrace the the Dark name.. she thought angrily.

Zex stood behind the tree, wondering Did those two forget about me? He thought about heading towards the town again.

Jaylen, oblivious to the rude thoughts in Zola's head, pulled the knives out of her boot and sneaked over to The boy. She crawled into the tree he was leaning on from the other side and perched on the branch above him. She held her knives tightly and then tried to kick the gun out of the Lighter's hands.

Zola watched the action from where she stood, now invisible. Apparently dark thoughts helped embrace her powers, which had happened. She approached them silently, her eyes never leaving the gun.

As soon as one of his pistols were kicked out of his hand, he turn and faced Jaylen, then started shooting with his remaining pistol.

Jaylen screamed and dropped down. She somehow stayed invisible, but a searing pain grew in her shoulder. She could feel the blood soak through her shirt and whimpered. Perhaps it was anger that gave her the strength, maybe it was adrenaline, but somehow she throw a knife at the lighter, hoping to hit him. She had faith in her throw, since she used her right hand because the left was kinda bleeding from a gunshot and stuff.

"Argh!" Zex groaned as the knife hit his shoulder. He pulled the knife out, picked up his second pistol and ran.

Jaylen smiled slightly as she hit the Lighters shoulder. She became visible just as he ran off, perhaps being seen, but not thinking much of it. She was to preoccupied by her shoulder to care if he saw her.
