Oh, oh, oh, it's MAGIC! You knoo-ooo-ooow!

It was a wonderfully light day, which had inspired Eden to take a walk in the woods. What she hadn't counted on was the sunshine that now streamed through the trees, blinding her vision occasionally. She had chosen to wear a knee-length sundress, but had also taken her black cloak with her. If any threat came, she would throw the hood over her face and focus all her mana on becoming a shadow.

The group of boys were heading to back to the fort, laughing and all. That was, until they spotted a dark girl. Arkas smiled. "She's kind of cute. How about we......surprise her?"
Oren blinked, then grinned. "Sure, why not?"
Everyone soon disappeared behind trees except Oren.

Septimus got a disgusted look on his face as he hid behind a tree. Darks and the like deserved to be purged.

Her senses alert, Eden jumped when she heard a twig snap. Hurriedly, she threw on her hood and whipped around. In her hurry, she completely forgot to summon the mana necessary to render herself invisible.

Too late. Oren frowned, with a bored expression. "Daaaaaaarkie!" he called.

Eden whirled around to face the source of the voice, and believed she saw a figure in the trees. Her heart was pounding as her mind churned out the possibilities. Suddenly, something dawned on her. Hoping it wasn't true, she looked down at her hands and arms, and almost froze in fear: she wasn't invisible.

Septimus revealed himself, walking out. "Is something wrong, Darkie?" he asked, taking out his dagger.

He held the same expression. "What are you doing, darkie?" he called once more. In his sheath across his back was a sword.

"Taking a walk in the forest," Eden snapped. If she was going to be picked on, she would put up a good fight. "What, is it illegal now?"

"No. We just don't like you people." Oren admitted, taking a step forward.

"Oh, really?" Eden feigned surprise. These Lights must be bored to be wandering the forest, purposefully searching for trouble. "Because, quite frankly, I was under the impression we were all the best of friends and honestly enjoyed spending the afternoon together, having a cup of tea in the shade of our castles."

For the first time, Oren smiled slightly. It was more of a smirk, though. "Good one, darkie. Let's see if you can still joke after we catch you." he said, waving his arm. Suddenly, the group exploded from the trees, lead by Arkas.

Like a deer being hunted, Eden's eyes widened as she went into panic mode. In her effort to start running at her top speed, her foot slipped and she had to push herself back up. She ran as fast as she could go, all the while attempting to summon mana to fight them off.

Arkas, though, was a fast runner. Grinning wildly, he pulled ahead of the group, switchblade in hand.

A spark sputtered in Eden's hand, and she muttered angrily. Anxiously, she chanced a glance over her shoulder, and saw Arkas gaining. With a rush of adrenaline, the girl pushed her feet to move faster. As her breathing became more rough, she realized just how much more advantaged they were compared to her.

A few people were slowed down, and Oren flew by, not fast enough. He trailed behind, as Arkas dived, catching her leg. They both went down.

The impact winded Eden. However, the moment she regained her breath, she kicked out, causing Arkas' grip to be loosened and allowing her to get up. The instant she was on her feet, she began running, but wasn't paying attention to where she was going, and she ended up tripping and twisting her ankle on a tree root. She lay, sprawled on the ground, wincing at her throbbing ankle.

Oren stopped at Arkas, helping him up. "Bitch..." his friend murmured. Oren blinked. "It seems she tripped. Come on."
They both approached her. Arkas grinned. "No where to hide, darkie."

"You're awful brave," Eden growled. She was tired, hurt, and frustrated. "I bet none of you would come after me if you weren't in your little pack." As a last resort, she spit on the ground at Oren's feet.

Oren frowned, hurt in his eyes. Arkas, on the other hand, growled, grabbing her by her shirt. "Watch it!" he started, but Oren shook his head. "Let's go, Arkas."
Arkas was completely dumbfounded. "W-what!?"

Eden pushed away from Arkas when he got distracted, stumbling a little on her ankle. She brushed her dress, trying to avoid Oren's gaze.
"And what was that for?" she demanded, trying to still sound angry. "We're supposed to hate each other, not let each other go!"

Oren placed a hand to his head. "Don't make me change my mind. Be grateful." he growled, taking Arkas by the collar, and throwing him behind him.

Instinct told Eden to pick a fight with this guy, but she knew she would lose. She already had unnaturally bad control over her mana, and now that her ankle was giving her problems, there was no way she even had a chance.
"Why?" she managed to ask.

"I don't enjoy...um...mugging girls." he said, spinning around. "Let's go, Arkas. The boys probably went back already."
Arkas growled, looking at Eden once more. "I'm coming..."

IC: Septimus glared at Eden in the background as he walked up to the scene, having not taken place in the chase. His gaze was full of hatred. "Oren, I thought this was supposed to be pest control."
